Meta Quest, a leader in immersive VR technology, partnered with the NBA for the 2025 All-Star Game to showcase the next level of sports viewing—a courtside experience from anywhere in the world. This collaboration aimed to highlight how Meta Quest allows fans to sit courtside through VR, bringing them closer to the game than ever before.
To promote this partnership, Meta Quest needed two high-energy 15-second spots that visually captured the excitement and realism of the VR courtside experience. The challenge was to create a compelling motion design package that blended live-action footage, type, and seamless transitions—all while staying true to Meta Quest and NBA’s branding.
The NBA All-Star Game is one of the biggest events of the year, and Meta Quest needed a promotional campaign that would make an impact in a short amount of time. Given our history in 2D and 3D motion design, as well as our ability to seamlessly integrate type, footage, and transitions, we were brought on board to develop and execute the motion design for these spots.
With a tight timeline of only three days, the project needed to be built in a way that allowed for rapid iterations and last-minute changes as feedback rolled in from both Meta and the NBA.
From the start, our focus was on creating a modular design system that would allow us to quickly swap footage, text, and animations as needed. This flexibility was critical given the number of stakeholders involved.
We started with an animation concept that merged Meta Quest’s sleek branding with NBA’s high-energy visuals. The transitions were designed to feel smooth, yet dynamic, reinforcing the feeling of movement and immersion—just like watching an NBA game in VR.
Despite an extremely tight turnaround, the final deliverables were polished, engaging, and visually striking. The two 15-second spots effectively showcased how Meta Quest users could experience the NBA All-Star Game like never before—bringing fans closer to the action through the power of VR.
The campaign successfully launched on time and provided Meta Quest with a high-quality promotional asset that reinforced its position as a leader in immersive sports experiences. The modular motion design system we built ensured that last-minute updates were handled efficiently, allowing for a seamless approval process despite the fast-paced timeline.
By combining clean motion graphics with dynamic transitions and NBA’s high-energy branding, we helped bring the courtside VR experience to life—one 15-second spot at a time.
