Mission

Pepsi, a global leader in the beverage industry, aimed to launch a vibrant summer campaign to engage consumers and boost brand visibility. The mission was to create a series of eye-catching commercials under the #summergram theme, encouraging people to use the hashtag and share their summer experiences with Pepsi. Given our expertise in seamlessly blending 2D and 3D animations, Pepsi entrusted us with this creative endeavor.

The Call

With summer fast approaching, Pepsi needed to roll out a new ad campaign that would resonate with their audience and drive engagement on social media. They turned to us for our proven track record of creating dynamic and engaging animations. The objective was clear: produce a set of commercials that would stand out and capture the essence of summer fun, all while promoting the #summergram hashtag.

Process

Our process began with conceptualizing a unique blend of live footage and animated graphics. The idea was to make it look like the label of a Pepsi bottle was tearing off and transforming into lively, summer-themed animations. These animations depicted various fun scenes, from roller coasters to beach relaxation, embodying the spirit of summer. Using Cinema 4D and After Effects, we created six 5-second social media ads that seamlessly combined 3D and 2D animation techniques. This ensured each ad was vibrant, engaging, and visually cohesive.

Outcome

The #summergram campaign was a resounding success. From May 19th through August 10th, Pepsi saw significant improvements across various metrics:

  • Pepsi 20-ounce SKUs gained 0.23 points of share from equivalent competing SKUs.
  • Improved velocities by +6% on 20oz versus pre-program.
  • Enhanced inventory on display by +44% on 20oz versus pre-program.
  • Increased the number of displays by +21% on 20oz versus pre-program.
  • Grew sales by over 4% compared to pre-program.
  • Doubled summer sales versus a key competitor.
  • Holistically improved brand perception.
  • Earned over 1 billion social impressions.

Our animations helped Pepsi connect with millions of consumers, placing the brand at the heart of summer fun and driving significant engagement and sales growth.
