Pinterest, a leading visual discovery and bookmarking platform, wanted to highlight the unique functionalities of their platform, including the search function and the ability to create personalized boards. The mission was to create a series of animated spots that showcased these features in an engaging and humorous way. With our expertise in clean, minimal UI animations, Pinterest chose us to bring their vision to life.
Pinterest sought to demonstrate their platform's versatility and user-friendly interface through a new campaign. The focus was on engaging viewers by showing how historical figures like Cleopatra, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo might have used Pinterest if it had existed in their time. Given our background in UI animations, we were the perfect fit to ensure the animations were accurate and visually appealing.
Our process began with designing style frames to establish the visual tone. We then collaborated with an editor at Hecho to block out the pacing of the spots. While the editor worked on pacing, we started building animations for the scenes, ensuring they followed Pinterest’s UI format accurately. Once the animations were approved, we brought everything to life and passed our animated renders to the editor for final cut and delivery. Our toolkit allowed us to create modular animations, ensuring flexibility and precision.
We created three 30-second animated spots, each featuring a different historical figure using Pinterest. The theme was a humorous take on how Cleopatra, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo might have searched for topics of interest and created Pinterest boards based on those searches. The animations were designed to accurately reflect Pinterest's UI, making the functionality clear and relatable.
