Twitch, the leading live streaming platform for gamers, seized an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate Gaules, Brazil’s top streamer, during his visit to New York City. The mission was clear: create a stunning visual experience that would surprise Gaules and showcase his achievement on the grand stage of Times Square.
The occasion was momentous—Gaules had just been crowned Brazil's #1 streamer. Twitch decided to mark this milestone with a surprise Times Square takeover. Given our expertise in large-format animations and proven track record in delivering high-impact visual content, Twitch entrusted us with the task of bringing this celebration to life.
Our team kicked off the project by crafting style frames that matched the vibrant and dynamic essence of Twitch and Gaules. Storyboards for each billboard were meticulously planned to ensure cohesive storytelling across multiple screens. The animation phase breathed life into the designs, incorporating a modern yet gritty aesthetic through the use of grunge textures and a unique stop-motion animation style. A crucial step in our process was developing a template that simulated the animations on the actual billboards, allowing us to perfect every detail before the final delivery.
The final deliverables were five 15-second animations, each tailored for one of the five large-scale billboards in Times Square. This coordinated display not only dominated the visual landscape of Times Square but also perfectly captured the spirit and energy of Gaules' streaming style.
